Tabitha Brown Brings Her Signature Joy to Black Love’s The Mama’s Den Podcast

Tabitha Brown is on a roll, honey! The beloved actress, author, and entrepreneur recently sat down with the hosts of The Mama’s Den podcast—singer Melanie Fiona, entrepreneur and influencer Felicia La Tour, writer Ashley Chea, and Chief Creative Officer of Black Love, Inc. Codie Elaine Oliver—to spill all the tea on life, love, and the next big adventures for her and Tabitha’s Brown’s husband, Chance Brown. And if you know anything about Tab, you know she served up wisdom with a side of laughter and a whole lot of heart.

Tabitha and Chance Brown are about to hit the road together for the first time ever! Yep, the couple, who have been together for 26 years, are embarking on a live tour – launching in Los Angeles on Valentines Day – bringing their dynamic love and energy directly to fans. (LA residents can enter to win FREE VIP tickets to the first live experience of Fridays with Tab and Chance.) And for Tabitha Brown’s husband, who is famously private, this is a big deal!

“My husband is very private. It took him a long time to even get on camera. Like now, for us to be going on tour, that’s the Lord,” Tabitha shares with a laugh. The content creator reminisces on The Mama’s Den about the early days when she used to cook live every day on Facebook, with Chance making rare vocal cameos. “People knew, ’cause he would come home from work and I’d be cooking, but you would never see him. You would just hear his voice and he’d be like, ‘Lord, you got them people looking in the house.’”

Now, they’re stepping out together, and we already know it’s going to be magical! LA folks can enter to win FREE VIP tickets to the first live experience of Fridays with Tab and Chance at the Avalon Theater in Hollywood on Valentine’s Day!

Tabitha and Chance’s relationship has weathered many storms, including the devastating illness and passing of Tabitha’s mother. Moving to Los Angeles shortly after their wedding brought both dreams and difficulties.

“We got married very young, 23, 24 years old. We moved to LA a year after we got married, from the South, right? As soon as we moved, my mama got sick,” Tabitha recalls to Codie, Felicia, Ashley and Melanie. “Those were the hardest times of our relationship. When you have a parent who is sick, you don’t realize in your vows, ‘through sickness and in health,’ it also means your extended family.”

Yet, through it all, Tab and Chance have remained each other’s rock, growing up and evolving together.

“I think that there’s a misconception. Me and my husband been together 26 years, and we got together, as I always say, as children. We were 19, therefore I didn’t know myself as a woman and he didn’t know himself as a man. And so we were growing up together in our relationship.”

In addition to her tour, Tabitha is launching a new fragrance line and a children’s book, Hello There, Sunshine—because why stop at just one project when you can do it all? But one of the most powerful moments of the conversation comes when she reflects on the journey of putting herself first after years of prioritizing her children and family above all else.

“One thing I can say is that we did always put parenting kind of before us. I’ve always done that until the last maybe seven, eight years. I had to figure out that, oh no, I gotta come first. Even before them kids.”

And can we talk about mom guilt? Every mother knows it well, but Tabitha has learned to reframe it in a way that allows for growth rather than shame.

“We really just started talking about self-care in the last 10 years, let’s be honest,” she notes.

With her signature warmth and wisdom, Tabitha Brown reminded us that love, partnership, and parenting are all about evolution. Through the highs and lows, she and Chance have remained committed to learning, growing, and—most importantly—choosing joy.

So, whether it’s her fragrance line, her children’s book, or the highly anticipated tour with Chance, one thing’s for sure: Tabitha Brown is walking fully in her purpose, and we’re all blessed to witness it.
