Eager attendees in 6 cities stood in lines that snaked around the corner so they could watch exclusive clips from BLACK LOVE and hear directly from the couples featured. The couples did not disappoint! Episode 1 takes place in Los Angeles and highlights Devale & Khadeen Ellis and Sterling K. Brown & Ryan Michelle Bathe. From Devale and Khadeen’s story of a throwdown fight directly before Codie & Tommy arrived to tape their interview, to Ryan’s family’s supernatural superstitions that Sterling wasn’t a good guy causing a rift in their relationship –– the conversation delivered on the details behind what was featured on the show. But along with the stories of scrimmage and squabble, ultimately, the couples aligned on how commitment, and attention to friendship and love, carried them through and serves as the foundation that keeps their relationships strong.
