Black Love Summit 2023 filled us and reminded each attendee that there is no love without wellness and there is no wellness without community. Community is what fills us and reminds us of the Black Love that we share beyond romance — the love we share that makes our bond amongst one another feel like what you experience with your family and friends, the Black Love that wants to see you win and extends a hand to you as you climb. The brands that helped us make Black Love Summit 2023 possible deserve their flowers, learn about their businesses, shop, and circulate the Black dollar!

Boris L. Henson Foundation

Founded in 2018, BLHF honors the legacy of Boris Lawrence Henson, the late father of founder Actress Taraji P. Henson. He struggled with untreated mental health issues after returning from the Vietnam War due to inadequate resources or support. Motivated by her own journey to heal from the loss of her father and her son’s double bereavement, Ms. Henson encountered a frustrating lack of culturally relevant mental health support. She realized that if she faced difficulties despite available resources, countless others likely did too. In response, she and her best friend, Tracie Jade Jenkins, took a bold step forward and established The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation. Their mission is to destigmatize mental health within the Black community and enhance its accessibility. Their ultimate goal is to empower individuals by embracing historical legacy and communal healing.
