I like Mo’Nique. I don’t know her personally, never had the pleasure of making her acquaintance, but I like and respect her. That said, I couldn’t disagree with her more about the idea of Black women needing to allow their men to have side chicks. If she had said, she’s OK with her man having a side chick, that’s her business…but she didn’t, she said “Black men.”

Black women are QUEENS, and they should be treated and valued as such.

Black women are QUEENS, and they should be treated and valued as such; they shouldn’t be told, overtly or otherwise, they are not enough for the person they choose. Instead, we need to support and nurture Black women so they know their true value and we need to build up our Black men so they are both worthy to stand by the side of our Black Queens and so they are no longer perpetuating a toxic culture of stepping out.

Mo’Nique: you are entitled to believe what you believe and no one is in a position to judge your relationships but hear me when I say that I am truly sorry for whatever made you think you don’t deserve a man to be focused on you 100% for you are a force-of-nature and you unequivocally deserve for someone to treat you like the Queen you are.
