Jeff Friday, the founder of the American Black Film Festival, is the father of 2 teenage sons with his wife, Nicole, and 2 daughters from a previous relationship who believes intentionality partnered with care and patience is a vital component for any father parenting children. His greatest goal was always to channel any “hurt or void” he felt growing up and turn that into a “positive and nurturing environment” for his children. Although every child requires a different level of care, Jeff’s remains steadfast that “there’s no difference in the responsibility of parenting a girl versus a boy” and showing emotional support to his children is critical.
