black love summit 2019

Packed with wives from the Black Love series, and to the soundtrack of season 3 wife LeToya Luckett’s new single, the ladies prepared to speak candidly on the pressures of being a wife and mother. Ashley Chea, Egypt Sherrod, Jessica Burns, Erica Campbell, and LeToya Luckett sat down with Black Love series co-creator Codie Elaine Oliver to have a straight up talk, and the truth it is not always as pretty as it appears.

It was a sneak peak into the Gentleman’s Club, as the men of the Husbands Panel talked sex sessions, breaking generational curses, and how to win a fight. Though, to say it was a Gentleman’s Club was not far off, as the panel roared on, it was clear that the audience was being allowed into the kind of conversation only privy to men within the confines of the inner circle of their very close confidants, a fact highlighted when Tommy said that time to speak honestly with the boys was needed, because: “We love our women, but they can drive us fucking crazy!”

It was a day of lessons, laughs, and, most importantly, love, as attendees from across the country gathered for the 2019 Black Love Summit. Created by Codie & Tommy Oliver for the purpose of encouraging healthy relationship dynamics within the Black community, the celebrity-packed summit included LeToya Luckett & Tommicus Walker, Erica & Warryn Campbell, Terrence J, Kevin & Melissa Fredericks, Dondré Whitfield, Egypt Sherrod & DJ Fadelf, and Chef Jernard & Keena Wells — and all spoke candidly about sex, money, heartbreak, and love, and what it really takes to make committed relationships work.
