Brook Sitgraves Turner received a full-athletic scholarship to attend the University of California, Berkeley. With the help of the PAC-12 postgraduate scholarship, she attended the University of Southern California’s Peter Stark Producing Program, with an eye towards increasing on-screen representations of people of color. During and after her time at USC, she continued training for the 2012 Olympic Trials while simultaneously pursuing her passion for film and TV. After many years as a competitive runner, Brook traded in her spikes and love of photo finishes, discovering a new, but equally rewarding passion for writing and producing. She was a member of Film Independent's 2015-2016 Project Involve Fellowship, produced documentaries: One Day I Too Go Fly and Naija Beta; and currently produces and co-hosts the podcast, Short and Sweet, Loud Ladies, and has worked on shows for ABC and OWN.
