The Black Love Summit is back in Los Angeles after taking on Atlanta in 2023 and the Black Love team is excited to amplify the voices of our community around Black love in all forms for the 7th year in a row! October 12th is THE day for an unforgettable celebration that will feature Kerry Washington, Jemele Hill, the ladies of The Mama’s Den podcast, Cassandra Freeman, Kevin (KevOnStage) Fredericks, Gail Bean, and more.
Best of all, speakers and guests will gather at Black Love headquarters in LA for a powerful experience centered on community, mental & physical wellness, and empowerment. In 2024, Our Voices Will Not Be Silenced is the theme for the weekend, to include a VIP dinner the night before the Summit and a wellness day the Sunday following. EMMY award-winning producer, actor and activist Kerry Washington, who recently hosted the 2024 Democratic National Convention, will join journalist and author Jemele Hill in a conversation entitled “Voting As An Act of Love,” about the role voting plays in our lives and the lives of our loved ones. Social media personality, actor and comedian Kevin Fredericks will join actor Cory Hardrict in conversation with EMMY award-winner and Black Love Co-Founder Tommy Oliver about fatherhood.
Washington, Hill, and Fredericks aren’t the only inspiring speakers to look out for at this year’s summit, sponsored by Amazon MGM Studios, Square, and Cash App. The 2024 event will also feature a live recording of the award-winning podcast, The Mama’s Den, hosted by Grammy award-winning artist Melanie Fiona, entrepreneur and influencer Felicia La Tour, writer Ashley Chea, and Black Love Co-Founder Codie Elaine Oliver. Black Love is not forgetting the singles either. Actors Gail Bean and Malcolm Mays and content creator Obio Jones will participate in a moderated conversation about dating in 2024 led by writer and emotional intelligence coach Blue Telusma.

Attendees can expect a range of activities throughout the day, including a curated marketplace featuring Black-owned, Los Angeles-based brands. Black Love is teaming up with local organizations WalkGoodLA, Creatricity and Toasted Life, to reach even more like-minded attendees with a mission-driven purpose of strengthening community and fostering Black love. Food trucks will be available onsite for the duration of the event and ticket options are designed to cater to various experiences.
