3 Best Friends Show the Importance of Pivoting With Ford Explorer

Even detours can be fun when you’re with your friends. Best friends Tomekia Reed, Jariyah Covington, and Tonya Bolden-Ball found joy in their journey during a girls’ road trip in their new 2025 Ford Explorer.

In the latest episode of “Tailgate Connections,” the women, who bonded on the basketball court as players and coaches, are on their way to check out a women’s basketball game when they hit heavy traffic in downtown Los Angeles. Undeterred by the delay, Tomekia turns up the volume on the new, available B&O® Sound System by Bang & Olufsen Group, creating an environment for the ultimate turn up.

“This traffic! Is everyone going to the same game today?” Jariyah asks, looking out at the sea of cars virtually stopped.

“Is it moving at all?” Tomekia responds.

“In my mind, I’m moving,” Tonya says as she enjoys the music coming out of the available speakers, including a subwoofer. “I’m moving to my own beat. It’s okay. It’s vibe.”

The available B&O® Sound System helps the besties unwind and reminisce on their years of friendship as they wait for traffic to die down. “I want y’all to know that I’m so happy to be with you!” Tomekia, a women’s head basketball coach, says. “Yall remember that one game we went to; that championship was won in like two seconds.”

The memories and conversation flow, but the ladies soon realize that there is no way they’re going to make it to the basketball game on time. Luckily, Google Maps is the perfect tool for the group to pivot. Tomekia uses the navigation system*, which has seamless integration and isn’t bound by a cell signal, to reroute their trip and go somewhere equally as fabulous and fun.

“Okay ladies, I’m going to put it in the map and see what we got. We’re going to have a change of course,” Tomekia tells her friends.

“Okay, detour!” Tonya replies, filling the SUV with positivity and enthusiasm.

“Listen ladies, I have this amazing spot for us to go to. Just hold on tight,” Tomekia says after Jariyah expresses about the new destination. “Just trust me. Sometimes in life, you have to change course.” A whole word.

Tomekia, Jariyah, and Tonya’s girl trip shows not only the beauty of the Ford Explorer, but also the importance of sisterhood, embracing change, staying positive, and rolling with life’s ups and downs. Stay tuned to see where the ladies end up and why their final destination sets the stage for more loving moments to come. The New 2025 Ford Explorer – It’s all in the Name.
