“The Rest Is History” Social Series Returns With a Focus on Friends

Actress Loren Lott and her best friend, actress Jazmine Robinson, on “The Rest Is History: Friendship Edition”

In a world where romantic love often takes center stage, Black Love is here to provide a space for all things friends. Our celebrated social mini-series “The Rest Is History” returns, but this time, we’re shining a spotlight on the power and beauty of friendship. “The Rest Is History: Friendship Edition” explores the bonds that tie friends together, including intimate conversations, shared experiences, and emotional memories.

Each episode of “The Rest Is History: Friendship Edition” dives into the unique journey of a pair of friends, unraveling their relationship through candid interviews and authentic storytelling. From chance encounters to deep-rooted connections, viewers are invited to witness the moments that led these friends to become each other’s confidants, companions, and pillars of support.

The first clip, available to watch on Black Love’s Instagram and TikTok, features actress Loren Lott and her best friend, actress Jazmine Robinson, whose bond exemplifies the essence of true friendship. The two besties, who have been friends for six years, reminisce about their journey together and offer glimpses into the foundation of their connection.

Jazmine’s recollection of their friendship includes a special moment where Loren opened her doors to Jazmine when she first moved to L.A. After noticing “inequities” in their cleaning habits, Jazmine began tidying up around the house. “I’m from the South! You clean houses, and you decorate and you know, it’s a thing. It brings life into your house,” she shares. “Like [Loren] was just off being a star, baby. And then she came home and that was it. I’m like, this is the set of your life.”

“I was happy to be able to do something for her in the same capacity in which I thought she was doing something for me,” Jazmine reflects. “Because I’m like, I can’t repay you for this. I couldn’t repay you for this friendship. I know I can’t because I might be giving you something — I promise you’re giving me more. I promise what you’re doing for my heart and for my child…you’re going to make me cry!”

Other episodes feature friends and content creators Malik McIntyre and Deandre Brown, who met in Chicago two years ago and bonded over fashion, longtime friends Shar Jossell and Pierre Phipps, who connected via social media 10 years ago in Chicago before becoming good friends in Los Angeles, and friend group J. Chris Rouse, Samuel A. Smoot and Ar’Darius Stewart, who met each other in South Carolina and gradually moved to L.A. together to pursue their career goals.
