‘Black Love’ Isn’t Just a Show for Me, It’s an Answered Prayer — Watch the New Season 3 Trailer (VIDEO)

Let me start off by keeping it real with y’all… sometimes I’m so focused on asking God to fix things in my life that I miss the amazing work he’s actively doing. I miss the answered prayers and blessings he clearly has in the works because I’m too busy focusing on what the current situation looks like. 

In November 2018, I went through a devastating breakup with a man that I thought I was going to marry. I had just turned 30 and had our life together all planned out, so when I found out he had been unfaithful, I was lost. I had two prayers everyday. First, Lord please don’t let this situation harden my heart and make me bitter. And second, Lord please bring me true love again. 

See, when I prayed and asked God to bring someone in my life to love and support me, to fill me and challenge me, and to hold me accountable and laugh with me, I never saw it coming from a group of co-workers. My Black Love family has listened to all of my break-up stories, while never passing  judgment, and most importunely, filling me with hope about falling in love again. It’s a constant reminder everyday of what real, healthy love looks like and that I deserve it, too.
